Recent years have seen a rise in the popularity of auctions as the best means of disposing of investment and surplus properties, covering commercial, residential, industrial sites along with land. And our dedicated list of investors knows it. We print over 5,000 catalogues for each sale.
With over £50M of property sold ‘in the room’ through our Auctions Department in 2008, this is one of our busiest teams, due to the quantity and turn-around of properties sold in a short time scale. We have on average 14 auction sales per year, taking place in both Leeds and Manchester. A recent survey undertaken by Focus has placed Eddisons as the 8th largest auctioneer in the UK for the number of commercial lots sold and 10th largest auctioneer in the UK for the value of commercial lots sold. This is supported by the Estates Gazette league table of auctioneers which ranks us as the largest auctioneer in Yorkshire and the Humber - a result which is testament to our Northern coverage.
Our Surveyors are adept at advising on sale placement and advising on setting realistic reserves. With an auction it can seem that all the ‘action’ takes place on sale day, but our team have been undertaking a full marketing campaign weeks prior, to spread the net as wide as possible, and as soon as catalogues are available, there is a steady stream of interested parties viewing properties and legal documents.
In addition to the printed catalogues which are distributed, our website shows the interactive catalogue for each sale, enabling people to view the catalogue, request viewings and express interest in lots 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
