Sales Completed On Former CragRats Buildings

The Huddersfield office of leading Chartered Surveyors Eddisons has completed the sale of the former CragRats buildings in Holmfirth and Penistone.

The Mill on Dunford Road, Holmfirth which contains offices, café bar and theatre block has been sold off an asking price of £500,000.

Meanwhile, a former school building on Whams Road, Penistone was sold off an asking price of £375,000.

The property currently comprises dormitory bedrooms together with separate rooms for storage, rehearsals and set building on a site which extends to 2.6 acres.

No details regarding the buyers of either property or their future plans have been released.

Theatre and training company CragRats owned both buildings prior to going into administration in June 2009.

John Padgett of Eddisons, who concluded the sale on behalf of CragRats (in administration) c/o Ernst & Young LLP said:

‘These deals have been completed despite some very tough economic conditions and our client is pleased with the prices we have achieved.’

‘Our Machinery and Business Assets department also assisted in the sales process by conducting a comprehensive asset valuation.’

Eddisons has also announced the sale of The Other Rooms on Queensgate, Huddersfield.

The prominent bar and restaurant premises, opposite the University of Huddersfield and adjacent to Kingsgate Shopping centre has been bought by a local businessman off an asking price of £395,000.
