Eddisons, the leading firm of chartered surveyors have completed the sale of a landmark mill in Earby, near Barnoldswick.
Albion Mills on Albion Road has been bought by Barnoldswick based Harry Garlick, a TV and electronic appliance business for £650,000.
The family- run firm, which has seven shops in Skipton and East Lancashire, plan to use the 65,000 sq ft building which occupies a 1.43 acre site as a warehouse, once an extensive refurbishment programme has been completed.
John Padgett of Eddisons said: ‘This is an imposing building which has created plenty of interest from a range of potential buyers.
‘Not only are we delighted with the price we have achieved for our client, but it is also gratifying to know that the buyer will be breathing new life into the building.’
Ian Scothern, Director at Harry Garlick said: ‘The move from a rented warehouse to one we own will help to secure the future of the business.
‘It will allow us to maintain our competitive edge and ultimately protect a large number of positions for our employees.’
The mill was formerly home to Damart, housing their printing and mail centre, before they relocated to Steeton, near Keighley in July last year.
