The machinery and business assets division of leading commercial property agent, Eddisons has demonstrated the diversity of its service by finalising two disposals for one client – the first involving specialist industrial plant, the second a fleet of new and used cars.
Acting on behalf of DTE Leonard Curtis, administrators of both Bernhard Metals and Linkcentre, the Eddisons team, which is based in the company’s Manchester office, realised a combined total in excess of £1.2 million through a combination of private treaty and auction sales
Production machinery belonging to the former secondary aluminium refiner, Bernhard Metals was sold by private treaty and raised over £250,000, while a further £150,000 was raised through the sale at auction of additional plant and machinery belonging to the Derby based company.
Meanwhile, Eddisons disposed of over 100 new and used cars and garage equipment belonging to Linkcentre – the Hyde and Ashton based former Rover, Nissan and Seat car dealership. With sales by private treaty and auction realising in excess of £700,000.
“Although these jobs involved completely different business sectors, both required the identification and targeting of very specific markets,” said Eddisons’ Jim Asquith. “And while we may not be experts on aluminium refining or car retail, we are experts in the disposal of machinery and business assets and are confident of successfully selling any item, no matter how specialised.”
